I have total timing set at 36 degrees with vaccum advance not hooked up.It runs around 48 degees total with vaccum advance hooked up. I have read about not running the vaccum advance? I have not run the car on the road yet. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Run the vacuum advance hooked to full amnifold vacuum. The problems with the ZZ4 ignition are:

1. The mechanical advance comes in too late, so you need to put one lighter spring on the autocam - shoot for full advance 3000-3200 RPM

2. The vacuum can adds a bit too much advance. You can make a stop on the can that limits it to about 8 degrees added by the can.
