who makes the best headers for a smallblock camaro with 1 3/4 primaries?
they must fit power steering, and clear the long AC 45s type spark plug?

i'm willing to pay good money for these, so they must be excellent.

thanks

I run Hookers, they are good on a budget, Stahl makes killer horsepower headers, but you'll spend up for them

My Hooker Super Comps fit very well on my '67 with angle plug heads on SBC 427. My old Hooker Comps. fit great with my stait plug heads on my old 350.

Have Jack Burns design you some, but they probably won't be 1-3/4" unless you've got a 9 second car...

Make sure you do a lot of research on that. I bought some 2 inch hooker headers for my camaro and had to do a lot to make them fit. We had to redo one tube completely to clear the steering box. And then a couple of hits with the hammer here and there to clear little things.

Do you need 1 3/4 headers or is 1 5/8 OK ? My hookers fit great, but I have no idea what has been done to your 35 year old car. Many people seem to have good luck with Thorleys. Almost any header will fit if you have the correct frame and engine mounts and no A/C.

I have Thorley's on mine and I have AC. They fit great. They are a little close to the AC suitcase however. I really like the way they hug the underside of the car and don't hang down. I have the nickel plated and have had they for 4 years. They have turned blue near the head from the heat but still look nice.

I'll second the Hooker 1-3/4" super comps-- no clearance problems to the chassis, a bit close on a few of the plugs, but that's with AFR's- they cleared my old engine's angle plug heads better.
