I am putting 17x8 Cragar S/S Wheels with a 3 1/2" backspacing on the front of my 68 Camaro. What size tire do you recommend? Thanks

I am thinking of ordering 17x8 Cragar's for my 68 as well.

I was under the impression that I needed a 4.5" bs

I think Cragar sold out or was bought out by another company and my cousin has been waiting for months for the back two rims to get shipped. He ordered all 4 from Summit and they told him they would be dropped shipped from the company when available. You may want to check availability of the rims you want.

I want the offset look, old school

If s/s wheels are similar to Torq Thrust II's 3" or 3 1/2" backspace sure isn't going to fit in wheel well

I just put 17x7 wheels on my lowered 68 with 4" b/s and 235/45R17 BFG tires. I have a little rub ( outer edge of tire to inner fender) when loading the front suspension.

That size will rub, dont' do it. even 7" w/ the same backspace will probably rub.
