Silly question of the day! How do you get the rubber mounts on the pump back into those little holes on the body?

John angelglo Sep 14th, 06, 07:49 PM you can use something like a punch or something similar that is dull and that will fit into the hole of the rubber bushing. be very carefull not to poke a hole through the bottom of the bushing. it will also help to lubricate the rubber so it slides in easier. i usually just spit at the end of it but if are afraid of getting cooties, just use a drop of oil or some other lubricant. angel idon'tknow Sep 14th, 06, 07:57 PM I've never tried to force mine down into the holes. I just let the little points of the rubber go in as for as they will. That pump isn't going anywhere in that little space with the hoses & electrical stuff attached. I've never had any trouble with mine banging around or tipping over or anything. :) Gary Dorion Sep 14th, 06, 09:18 PM use dish soap on the rubber tips and use a screwdriver to assist them in the holes. The soap makes it easy. bertfam Sep 14th, 06, 10:24 PM I've used some light oil and an allen wrench. Use an allen wrench that's just a bit smaller than the hole. A screwdriver may poke a hole in the grommet. The allen wrench is flat on the end so no holes. Ed Johns 67 Sep 15th, 06, 05:52 AM Thanks fellas,I'll give it a shot. Sounds easy enough with a little lube. John |
