I bought 3 pc. Leaf Spring from John R Spring part # 21-245 to replace mono leaf springs. I having trouble using both rubber pads(top and bottem). I looked at old post and realized that the comments about being a easy replacement were from people using U bolts. I have T bolts and there looks like now way around taking out at least one pad. Do the T bolts come out easy and is there a different U bolt for mono or multi leaf spring?

DITCH the "T"-bolts as fast as you can!!

The little suckers have a nasty habit of breaking! They will pop right out with a mild whack using a small Ford Tool!!

My pads fit fine using "U"-bolts after I trimmed both lips off by CAREFULLY using my boxknife!!

Go with the U-bolts.

I just finished this project and had trouble finding the U bolts so I used longer "Grade 8" bolts. I wacked out the old t-bolds and used the same perch plate just with longer bolts. This way I was able to use new upper and lower leaf pads. I almost forgot, I had a buddy reinforce the welds on the perch plate. After that everything was a snap. Just take your time.

I picked up the U-bolts yesterday. I let you know how it goes today with the change out from T bolts to U bolt.

Something like stock 7/16" "T"-bolts vs 1/2" "U"-bolts?????????? Sorry, I forget...
