View Full Version : Showed her today for the first time.
Brackneyc Sep 16th, 06, 03:18 PM What a rush. So much different than being a spectator. My wife drove it down today since I had to open the store (Autozone) and work till' noon. No biggie. It was the first time she ever drove it, and the first time I have ever seen it driving. So cool.
Anyway, it was a small show (40 cars give or take), but only a 1/2 mile from the house. I had a great time talking to all the people walking by, and got plenty of very nice compliments on the car. I did not get any pics of the car at the show (too distracted). I did get one after we returned from the grocery store (it is a grocery getter you know:)).
This was a nice little payoff for almost two years of hard work.
Here are a few plics from my street. Thanks again for all of the help you guys. Too many to list, but between the PMs and the threads, I owe a debt of grattitude to many folks here. :)

clwilcox33 Sep 16th, 06, 03:41 PM Man, are you still grinning from ear to ear? Has your wife had to tell you to stop that yet? :) Grats on the milestone!
clwilcox33 Sep 16th, 06, 03:42 PM Just looked at the pics. Man that's a sweet looking car! They just never made 'em as good after '67 :)
Jeff22 Sep 16th, 06, 03:49 PM I take mine to a couple shows a year (this year and last). It's great, ya meet so many cool people. One of the shows I go to is at the first of the summer, big weekend long event with lots of cars people, food, beer, dancing , all sorts of fun. Then I put in in one small one a few minutes from my place at the end of the summer (last weekend). Its only a 4 or 5 hour long one with only about 120 cars.. but still lots of fun. I actually took home 2 pretty nice trophies from that one last weekend, a first for me, so that was something I'll always remember.... keep going to the shows bro,, it's alot of fun, you meet alot of great people, and ya can learn alot of stuff you might want to do to your car or try out...Jeff

I totally agree. I did have one guy ask me what year my Nova was. I wasn't sure what to say, so I said it was a 67. He said it was nice, and walked on to the next car. :)
Joe Harrison Sep 16th, 06, 06:10 PM This is what makes this site so cool.........I can't wait to get mine back on the road. I hope to get some update pics soon of it, but everyone has seen 67 Camaros torn down to the bones so they can wait.

HUH? What? I thought they only made Camaros in 1969. WOW news to me. LOL
Seriously ... Craig your car looks awesome. I just looked at some of the before pics (especially the trunk - yuck) ... nice job!

Thank you very much. I had a few guys very interested in the trunk/framerails project at the show. It was not a fun part of the project, but it was definitely the most involved, and most crucial for my project. Everything else seemed mild by comparison. :)
Camaro Dave Sep 18th, 06, 12:37 AM You let the wife drive the car!!!
Brentmc Sep 18th, 06, 05:07 AM Nice job and nice car.
Car shows are fun--a guy yesterday told about his brother buying a brand new 1965 Camaro just like mine.
mbmmca Sep 18th, 06, 05:55 AM Nice work and nice car. I can't wait to get that far....I spent yesterday afternoon at a show (300 cars or so) and drooled over the camaros. Can't wait to see mine out there...(someday)

Seeing her in the drivers seat was absolutely the final addition to the car. :) She made the car sound and look better somehow. It was very cool. :)
