i currently have a 1994 v6 convertible camaro.. and wanting to swap a ls1 or ls2 in the spot of the v6.. but i had some concerns about what all i need to complete it.. first i know i need the wiring harness form the engine to the computer.. i can get that from painless wiring.. i need a computer.. does anyone know where i can get one that will allow me to plug a laptop in to change the computer? will i need new motor mounts? also i want to change the tranny to a manual... any ideas for it.. either five or six speed. not for sure yet.. thanks for your help

It would be easier and most likely less expensive to sell your car and buy a V8 version. On late model cars it's quite in-depth how much is changed to do this swap as factory. If you had a V8 donor car that would help, but there is a lot that's different.
Add in the fact that they didn't have the LS engines in that year, so I'd really recommend selling yours and buying what you want.

The best way would be to find a wrecked 90ish V8 camaro. Otherwise its a lot of work, basically you need a whole new computer , wiring harness. The secret third option is to throw a carburated engine in there and rip out the harness, but you won't pass emissions anymore.

I know of someone with the LS1/v-8 front cross member if you need one. You will need one to convert.
