Howdy,
I've got a '69 model that was a Denver car all it's life. It's got surprisingly little rust overall, but the trunk is a mess. I think they hauled a lot of sand bags. . .

I was looking to replace the trunk floor pan with a new piece. Can you recommend any in particular that are better than others? Ones to stay away from? Tips for getting the new one welded in correctly?

Thanks
Stu

Hi Stu... I did this 2 years ago in my '69. I purchased the pan from NPD and had pretty good luck. It was thick gauge metal and the fit was good. I did have to do a bit of hammering....

I would recommend that you use a cut off wheel to carfully cut out the floor of the trunk. Then, use the piece as a template to trace out the new piece needed. Decide if you want to do a lap or but joint.

Trim out the new pan and then tack it in place....

I have a few pictures on my site....
