What should I coat the rubber parts of the body mount bushings with before installing them on the car? Should I spray them with silicone?

I don't see the need to put anything on them. Besides, the body guys hate it when you go spraying silocone all over the place. It tends to get into everything (even small amounts) and wreaks havoc with all types of paint and primer.

All right let's hear it from a body guy that has done it before...

I've seen that people have sprayed them with silicon to keep them from squeeking & degrading.

I remember seeing somewhere that the lube that electricians use when pulling wires through conduit works well for lube on body bushings, don't remember where I saw it though.

I've got a little writup about putting them in on my webpage with step by step instructions. Click the link below, then click the "my '68 Camaro" then click "other." In there is the body-mount bushing install instructions.
