Wonder where the Trim Tag and VIN went?
Chuck L Sep 23rd, 06, 12:21 PM Hopefully a local member could go check it out and get the vin from the cowl area.??
jerry67 Sep 23rd, 06, 12:36 PM The seller does give a VIN number 124679n508626
dsherw00d Sep 23rd, 06, 12:36 PM I'm in NY, but he doesn't state where in PA. I sent him a e-mail. Why does he mention it was a pace car? Do you think this guy is just BSing in order to drive the price up? Is there anything in the ad or in the pics that prove is was a pace car? Seems strange that a person would take the VIN and not the car. It's in poor shape, but not to a point where you would take only the VIN.

clwilcox33 Sep 23rd, 06, 01:24 PM Worst thing about it is that he says he doesn't have a title or vin....but he'll sell you another title to another car to go along with it. Don't these guys know this is illegal?
Mark C Sep 23rd, 06, 01:44 PM The original VIN and trim tag probably went to another convertible, that is now painted white and orange, and parading around as a Pacecar.
377camaro Sep 23rd, 06, 02:01 PM Wow, that needs a lot of work.

Good .. someone go check the VIN ..because maybe the one he lists is to his title, and we will have it run to see where the new pace car now lives...or maybe not.. I would hate to break someones heart.

"Up for auction is a project that was never finished.."
How about never started!
How do people let these cars get so bad?

I'am glad they let them get that bad. Then we get to buy them, fix them, drive them and enjoy them.
Can you imagine if all camaros were perfect. we couldn't afford them and we would have nothing to do.
ProdigyCustoms Sep 24th, 06, 08:23 AM Have no fear, if the VIN on the car is 124679n508626 it is too early production to be a pace car. Guess it depends weather that is the new title number or the body VIN number.
Mark C Sep 24th, 06, 09:42 AM From the wording of the ad;
"There is no longer a pace car title or vin, but I do have a title for the car from a 69 Camaro RS convertible."
I'm assuming that that VIN is from the other title he has.
DOUG G Sep 24th, 06, 10:05 AM Either way this needs to be documented and have E-bay pull the add.
go2fast Sep 24th, 06, 01:32 PM Reminds that about 20 year ago I had a chance to buy a real '69 pace convertible for $900. It was behind a Chevy dealer I was doing some work for. Someone had stolen the driver's door and they didn't want to deal with it. Of course I was poor then, so no Camaro. wah..
:-)
Mud Rat Sep 26th, 06, 12:33 AM Someone must of bought a new body and put the vin and cowl tag from this thing. Thats my guess
02 camaro Sep 26th, 06, 08:34 PM ok the first thing i said when i saw that picture was...awww...
AlexFolino Sep 26th, 06, 09:49 PM Ill go look at it this week. Somebody have its exact location?
Flynn69 Sep 27th, 06, 04:00 AM The auction ended at $6,688.00..DMV would have a field day with this.

I've seen white cars painted up like pace cars back in the day ...

Same here.....only I could have bought it a few years ago here in the netherlands for about 5000, but can't remember the exact amount. That Z11 has been discussed here back then. Now I wished I had the money back then, it was a nice project, a very BIG project if people here remember the pics I showed then.
