The small brace that is just behind the quarter panel, running on a 45 degree angle from door jamb to rocker. It also looks like a piece of foam or sponge material is between brace and quarter panel (probably to stop squeaking or rubbing). How important is this brace and where would I find one? They don't seem to make one aftermarket.

I don't know how important they are, but when I had to replace mine I was able to find one in a hardtop car. Shouldn't be too hard to find a used one. The foam keeps it from vibrating against the quarter.

I thought is was only on a convertible. I have a couple of coupes so I will check and get back to you.

Can't find this brace on either coupe I have. I think it is only on convertiblies. Can anyone confirm this? Also where I can get one.

I took em off my vert and have not decided if I'm gonna re-use em but I dont believe they're necessary but then again what do I know :clonk:

I figure that if the General put them there, they must be needed.
