I'm trying to figure out what I have here. I have an original 67 RS steering wheel with two spokes instead of three. The spokes are located at 9 and 3 o'clock on the wheel. It looks like the from all the pictures of steering wheels from the catalogs and other sources, that they all have a third spoke located at 6 o'clock on the wheel. What's the deal? Any info is appreciated.

I think that is just the standard wheel, that most '69 Camaro's had. Many car's were upgraded to a 3 soke design. The standard design for '67 and '68's had 3 spokes. This info is shown in Rick's catalog at http://www.firstgen.com/

The one I have is definitely not a 69.....it looks totally different from the pictures in Rick's catalog. I think I have an odd duck here. The one that I have, is an original minus the bottom spoke. I'm wondering if they switched designs in mid year for the 67's??? I have an early 67 model date vin of first or second week in October of 1966.

is this a sim wood wheel? I think early Chevelle had a 2 spoke

As far as I can tell it's real wood because of the raised grain pattern. There are two halves to the wheel with a chrome ring seperating to two halves. It's definitely an original wheel from that time era.

also may be an aftermarket wheel. If you can post a picture maybe someone can ID it.

I'd say aftermarket post a picture...does it have any part numbers on it?

That's it Dennis! The funny thing is that I looked at the center cap and assumed that it was a Camaro steering wheel. I guess both wheels have the same center cap. Also when I took the interior apart, 99% of the interior was original leading me to believe that the steering wheel was too.

Early chevy wheel for up to 66. Somebody must have put that in the Camaro.
