Reverse lock out maybe??
Camaro Dave Sep 27th, 06, 08:59 PM 67 Shift linkage rod for an Auto Transmission.
RamAirDave Sep 27th, 06, 09:00 PM Could be the reverse lockout rod from the column down to the swivel bracket on the subframe. Not sure, though. Its pretty straight.
losbasecoupe Sep 27th, 06, 09:00 PM looks like a throttle rod, or at least its appears to be close, but the length is to long, comparing it to my 327 2bbl, maybe not......application ????????
late68 Sep 27th, 06, 09:07 PM You probably all ready know its a throttle rod......application ????????
no its not a throttle part, the only throttle rod I ever bought new was for a big block, it was a two part piece where one threaded end went into another and much shorter in lenght than this one,I havent got a clue what this is?
This is 16-1/2 long 3-1/8 rod

The throttle rod has a round end on the adjuster without a locking nut.
losbasecoupe Sep 27th, 06, 09:19 PM I agree the length is to long, but awful similar
losbasecoupe Sep 27th, 06, 09:21 PM The throttle rod has a round end on the adjuster without a locking nut.
Yeppers, your right:clonk:
losbasecoupe Sep 27th, 06, 09:29 PM Its a shift linkage for 67......... Either a glide, or 350/400
HarleyD67 Sep 28th, 06, 02:27 AM If I can find my old shift linkage I will check the #'s to compare.
Kyvox Sep 28th, 06, 05:11 AM It's part of the kickdown linkage for a Powerglide. It goes from the lever on the trans., to the "Z" bar mounted at the bellhousing flange.
Everett#2390 Sep 28th, 06, 05:21 AM 67 Shift linkage rod for an Auto Transmission.DING! DING! DING!
We have a winner, folks!
1967 Camaro, 64-67 Chevelle & others, auto trans linkage from console shifter to transmission.
Powerglide kickdown is a solid rod, bellcrank, and an adjustable rod at carb connection with a threaded spindle on the rod at carb.
Kyvox Sep 28th, 06, 05:35 AM You're right Everett, the V8 linkage uses a solid rod. I think it's for a 6 cyl w/Glide though. Appear to be item #8, UPC M35 page A13 in the 68 AIM.

The trans gearshift rod is the same for 6-cyl and V8. However, I failed to recognize the set-up I described is for a V8 Powerglide kickdown. The L6 uses a single long rod from the carb to trans lever on a Powerglide.
I don't have the AIM close by, just going by memory.
But 'Thank you' just the same!
