I've got a friend who will cut me some metal inserts for my subframe bushings. Can anyone give me a length measurement for them? I started out thinking I would shoot for a certain amount of compression - these are energy suspension poly bushings. But the fact is, I don't know what is a reasonable amount of compression nor does Energy Suspension. They said, "Make them the same as the stock inserts". Trouble is, I can't find the inserts alone. If I get them too loose, I'm afraid the subframe can slip out of position. Too tight and the bushings may split.

Dave,

I have my instructions for my ES complete kit that has the dimensions listed. I scanned them and was going to e-mail you it but could not figure out how to attach the file though TC e-mail to you.

The dimensions they list are for the combo washer/sleeve over all length. They are as follows:

Core support: 1.282"
Under firewall: 1.495"
Under door: 1.410"

If you would like me to send you the scanned instuctions just e-mail me with your e-mail address and I will send it to you. My e-mail address is in my profile. I don't know if it might have any other useful info in it.

Wow, those dimensions are about the same as the bushing length itself. I'm surprised since I thought there would need to be a bit more compression of the rubber to hold everything in place.

If you send me an email, I'll reply back to you so you can send the images if it isn't any trouble. I appreciate your help.
