well my grandpa had a 69 z28 he bought from a dealership in kimerly BC, they got it from a race track, it used to be a pace car for the track. it came with a 302 motor but it had 450+ hp and ran 11.8 in the 1/4. duntov is a racing team or something http://www.duntovmotors.com/

o and the car didnt have a cowl hood either, just a spoiler on the back and rally rims

The cowl hood was an option for the Z and SS, I think starting about Jan 1. A whole lot more cars have one today than ever left the factory with one. It's a classic look!
