I thought I might join this forum to see if I could contribute and learn something about the hobby. I love Camaros and owned my first one in 1972, a 69 plane jane with a big block in it and I wish I had it back!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Floyd I love that 68Z of yours. I was at one of the first North Dallas Camaro club meetings at Kels house. I was there from Arkansas in my 67 and took home a cal hood and gave away my flat hood.

Nice to see you have joined up and look FWD to your posts. I am sure we all can learn from you as well.

Patrick,
by trade i'm a network engineer in Chandler, AZ so working on the car is a nice change of pace.
I have a 69 Camaro, fell in love with the 69 when I was in high school. Haven't started on the body, but have upgraded quite a bit. 350 zz4, AFR heads, 1992 TPI with megasquirt EFI, richmond 6 speed and baer brakes.

Hello all,
I recently re-found this site after signing up a while ago. I don't remember posting anything so I am starting out fresh here. I have a 1968 SS that was a 396 AT car with 62k original miles. Drivetrain is crated, and the car is being frame off painted (Finally!) after owning for 12 years. I am working on a 582-598 Dart BBC to put in it while still retaining as much "stock" appearance as possible. Nice site!
Happy Holidays!

I've been a frequent visitor of the site for a couple of years now but didn't become a member until Oct. of this yr. The reason was that I had been a buyer looking for used parts to piece up my 69. Until recently I've decided that I needed to sell one of my projects and I have a 68 camaro that I'd hate to sell but will if I don't sell the other vehicle which is the 58 apache p/u I have advertised.

My name is Jeff and I recently purchased a 69 RS Z28 with a 66 vette 327/300 hp.The car has had some serious sheet metal replaced and a fresh coat of black with the white stripes. the RS is a very good clone job, but so far I'm still coming up that it was a Z from the Van Nuys factory... Anybody have any great ideas of tracing these things back to the roots besides the build sheets that have been removed years ago?

Thanks!

Just wanted to introduce myself and I will be on here a lot getting advice and probably lots of help with the resto...Talk to you all soon....Pat

Hey everybody. I'm new to the site. I have had several great Camaros over the years. I am actually looking for a 1969 Z28 that I sold several years ago. If anyone can help I would love to try and buy it from the current owner. It is a burgundy Z with a standard red interior. It is an X-77 with a factory 8 track on the console. I sold it to a guy in Califoria about 12 years ago. The vin is 124379N639889. If anyone knows its where abouts or how I could go about finding it I would appreciate any info.

I am fairly new to this group. We are restoring the interior in our 69 Z28 back to original. # 1-This is EXPENSIVE!! #2-You never know what you are going to run in to. That's where The Team Camaro site has been extremely helpful. I have gotten answers quickly from people who know what they are talking about!! Alot of "been there-done that" experience here. Can't thank you all enough for the help. Don

Just joined yesterday. I have a 67 RS that I am working on. Currently building a 406 for it and plan to install it with a TKO 600 but haven't decided yet. Finished with front suspension and brakes. Once engine and trans are in will start on engine electrical and put the front sheet metal back on. Just moved to MA over the summer. So far I like what I have found. Found some good info on glass replacement which is something I am working on while the block is at the machine shop.

Thanks for the great forum.

I have a 67 SS350 that I'm in the middle of restoring right now. Car is in the body shop now. All the rusted metal has been cut away and what little was left was blasted Saturday. We're ready to start the re-building process. The car was almost a goner when I acquired it and had no motor or transmission so I'm not doing an "all original" type of restoration.

The car was born Bolero Red w/black vinyl, 4 speed, deluxe interior, console w/gauges and a fold down rear seat. It's going back with a 383 stroker, M-21, 12 bolt, and all new front and rear suspension from Global West.

Wish me luck!

hi everyone. my name is jim i am from wv.
just signed up today to see if i can learn something new or maybe answer a ? or two
i have a 68 coupe that has less than 10,000 miles that i bought in 1972.
it was originally a big block car that was raced extremely hard before i got it, which also lead to a short life of the engine after i got it
after sitting since 1974, i decided to do a complete resto on the ol girl .
so far i have added new body mounts, front disc brakes, lines and booster, new rear brake sand a complete front suspension
i just ordered a new 383 534 horse engine fron URC and should have it in about 17 days
i'll shut up now dont want to be a pest on the first post

I have a 67 coupe that I got 20 years ago. so now the car is 44 years old. Now I am trying to replace the glass front channel. Anything that is not metal will deteriorate and even if it is metal that too can also be shot. if this part get used everytime the car is run then that that will lead to it's replacement. So it stands to reason that any part that is in the driver's door will probably be on the replacement list. About a month ago I replaced the roller on the bottom-rear of the driver's glass window. Now whenever the door gets slammed the force from the glass is transmitted more to the front channel. It's like one repair caused another part failure. So now I'm on a mission to replace this channel, but first I have to get the vent window assembly out of the door. It looks like
moving the big window aft will help. Does anyone know if this needs to be done ?
Removing the roller I just replaced is easy and thhis would allow the front glass to be
moved aft. I certainly don't want to remove the front glass if I don't have to.

I never really got how cool it was to have vent windows, but now I do. The 67 camaro was the first and last time vent windows were offered on the camaro. I had my car in south Florida for 10 of those years. the exterior & interior are black and does it get hot. with out the vent windows it would be unbearable.

She has had some work done before that wasn't done right so I brought it to Ky. and we are fixing it right. I am down to replacing the vinyl top and the headliner.
