Hi Steve. Do you have any experience with B&M's converter lock-up control ? I just installed one and I have a few questions. B&M's tech service didn't help me much. My questions are: 1) Should I still be using my TV cable or should it shift gears without it ? 2) In the instructions, they show a long spring inside the valve body that should be removed on older models. I do not want to remove the pan on my trans. if I don't have to. My trans. is a TPI built 700R4. I do not believe that they are still in business. If anyone else know the answers - please enlighten me ! Thanks, Tom

You must retain your TV cable, the TV system and the converter lockup are two entirely different functions.

Early model units used the hydraulic converter lockup, yours is LIKELY not hydraulic and has the sleeve in the valve body instead of the valve and spring.

Just test it to be sure it works properly, it should lockup when you achieve a certain speed. You can set it up to lockup in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th or just 4th, or just 3rd and 4th.

It is really dependant on how it was setup before and ho you wire it now.
You may need to pull the pan to make it function how you want it to.
