View Full Version : New member with too many questions
Strick Oct 5th, 06, 08:38 PM I am not new to message boards. I am a dirt bike racer (yes I still race at age 48) and street bike rider, so I have given and gotten a lot of great information on boards like this one. I am VERY happy to have found you, since I now own a '67 Camaro conv. I just hope I post my questions in the right forum. Thanks in advance to everyone that provides me advice.

Bgonz 69 Oct 5th, 06, 08:53 PM I won my first motocross race at age 38  A solid 1-1 for first overall in the 30+ vintage amatuer class. Took me 25 years of racing and a old YZ 490 to do it. I'm still sore and that race was 2 years ago :clonk:
God thats a bad ass bike. And i really mean BAD. "as in, it sucks"
Enjoy the knowledge, and nice to meet ya.

I will join the forum (in a more official manner - $$) today. I need to browse around a bit more before I ask questions that have been asked (an answered) too many times. Thanks for the warm welcome. And if I have to wear my work hat here too (answering insurance questions), I will. I have been an agent/broker for 21 years
Thanks Again!

They didn't, but let them dream anyways We all know that 67 is Heaven, 68 is Great BUT...69 is FINE;) .
2x67rs/ss Oct 6th, 06, 07:41 PM Very nice car! 67 is the only way to go you just cant beat the wing windows! Even with the top down they direct the cool air where those 68 and 69 cars only dream of.
mbmmca Oct 7th, 06, 05:52 PM Welcome, from MI.:waving: Nice Ride!
heatsinker Oct 7th, 06, 06:30 PM Everyone knows the deal............
'67 came 1st (perfection)...........
..........They then tried what they thought were improvements making the '68 and realized not as good (no wing windows).
They then figured they would change it drastically with the '69, another mistake and then gave up and changed the style completly (2nd Gen) knowing they couldn't equal the 1st/best year made...........1967 :hurray:
now 40 years later they are going back to the beginning
dreamweaver Oct 7th, 06, 08:44 PM Corona over here, please.
Beautiful car you have
67 --- "Test Model": GM had to test the waters and see what the market would respond to. They were somewhat reluctant to come out with too much styling for fear that Ford might pull out all the stops and try to beat them. They had more up their sleeve but wanted to keep it in reserve for later.
68 --- "Enhanced Styling": Still saving the best for last, the engineers decided to give the buying public a glimpse of what was to come. They did away with the wing ashtrays and made a few subtle modifications, preparing the psyche for what they were about to unleash.
69 --- "Perfection Achieved": Knowing the addage, "Third time's a charm", they completed their mission by producing the finest muscle car ever conceived.
This is all documented in the secret GM library. Unfortunately, only the owners of 69's are allowed in, so you'll just have to trust me on this one :)
1NAST69 Oct 8th, 06, 08:19 AM Welcome from the sunny Virgin Islands! You have picked the right site! Trust me, this is the best group of Camaro nuts on the net! Ask any question you want, we'll be happy to help! Congrats on your new toy, she looks great!

Strick Oct 8th, 06, 08:33 AM Lots of sibling rivalry here. I love all 1st gen, however in Nevada there is no smog required on 1967 and prior, so easy choice. I know my motors won't pass smog. Also, in terms of classics this is not my first (5th). I know the value of message board, so here I am.
Once again thanks to all for the warm welcomes.
