View Full Version : 1969 X77 Z28 Car - I have a lead on one, what it worth?
wthurrott Oct 6th, 06, 09:40 AM I am able to get an X77 Z28
the car does not ahve the 302 or 4 speed however it does have the disc brakes and 12 bolt, it will need a restoration, floor pans etc but isnt that bad
what should I pay
thanks
Scott Taylor Oct 6th, 06, 09:44 AM I have seen projects like you describe going for outrageous money. An easy X77 project, sans motor and tranny should fetch upward of $25K. If nicely done, the finished project will fetch $75K.
click Oct 6th, 06, 09:51 AM This should be in the new section 'what's it worth' :) Al just added it on Thur. and its been well received. Maybe DjD or Al can move this over there.
wthurrott Oct 6th, 06, 09:51 AM yeah it is not too bad, my father went to see it today I will look tonight on the way home
wthurrott Oct 8th, 06, 02:06 PM car has a drum brake front end now, doesnt have its motor or trans

DanW Oct 11th, 06, 11:23 AM it does have the disc brakes and 12 bolt, ...
...car has a drum brake front end now...
Are you sure it originally had disk brakes?
al8apexer Oct 11th, 06, 01:40 PM put this in the WIIW section
Gary L Oct 11th, 06, 01:50 PM With out seeing it, I would say $15,000 or a little more. You will have $35-40,000 in it to do it right, assuming a lot of the work is done by you.
wthurrott Oct 11th, 06, 02:04 PM Are you sure it originally had disk brakes?
oh,,,were discs an option for 69 Z28s? thought it was standard.....
Gary L Oct 11th, 06, 02:08 PM Standard for Z/28. He was asking if you though it originally had disk brakes since it has drums now. Check for the valve mounted on the frame rail under the driver door.
wthurrott Oct 11th, 06, 02:10 PM the car had been stripped this car, def is a z28 that was put back together ....with the wrong stuff
wthurrott Oct 11th, 06, 02:11 PM thanks for the info!
Vintage 68 Oct 11th, 06, 02:38 PM Pictures? It would make things easier.
Specificly pictures of the Cowl Tag, floor shifter opening, rear axle codes and the firewall details ...
These and other body photos arre the only way others can give you a heads-up on the car and get closer to a real value.
Otherwise it's worth what you think it's worth - it's your money.
The next guy you try to sell it to may disagree with your investment ;)
wthurrott Oct 12th, 06, 06:49 AM checked it out last night, it does have that valve thing
this car does appear to be the real deal I will check the axle codes as well
the car is not bad at all, trunk is good, rear panel, doors are good, nose is mint, cowl tag absolutely never tampered with
I will buy it next week,,,,
al8apexer Oct 12th, 06, 12:16 PM how much is it?
Gary L Oct 12th, 06, 07:09 PM Yeah, for how much?
