The guy at GM that stamps the #s must have got fired after doing this car or was just very excited he was doing a COPO and could not make up his mind. Motor, trans and carb. EBAY # 250036252550. Sorry, tried to attach the link but no luck.

Transmission casting has been ground down and restamped as well as the engine block. The engine build date stamp looks good. No pics were posted of the Axle tube stamping. Nice looking car overall but seeing this makes me wonder about the rest of the car. Below is a pic of an original trans stamping:

The tranny is the only thing that looks restamped to me. The die stamped bounced on the carb creating a double stamping. Thats not that uncommon.

VIN stamp on the block looks restamped as does the trans stampings. The pad stamping on the block looks fine to me.

Car had no original drivetrain. Block was reputedly relocated recently.

Did anyone else think the lower control arms looked a little rough for a rotiserie restoration? Why wouldn't they have smoothed them out? I thought the COPO's came with 140mph speedometers?

not all 427 425hp Camaros had the 140 M.P.H speedo
The COPO 9561 option included the 427 425hp engine
The COPO 9737 option included the 15in wheels/tires and 140 M.P.H speedo
these were different options and needed to be ordered separately
