Hello, My 2000 SS Camaro since it was new had a oil consumption issue, or oil being sucked into the throttle body through the PCV system. I modified the PCV system with the inline addition of a Greddy oil catch tank. Worked great, I caught all kind of oil, water, grunge, etc…. At around 190,000 miles the stock engine had a problem and I had the engine rebuilt, from a 350 to 434 CC inches, 438 HP and 454 pounds of torque at the rear wheels. I had to keep the cam mild to pass California smog required testing. The oil catch tank apparently is doing nothing to prevent the oil through the PCV system, now.
LS6 PCV Conversion Kit, on Thuinder Racing web site looks interesting, is there any available reading material available, and has any one had this issue and solved it with this LS6 PCV mod?
If I disconnect and plug the PCV system and measure with vacuum gauge I see 52 pounds per inch on the side of the throttle body where the PCV system connects at idle. Does any one think this mod will address my problem? I still see the PCV valve with the oil catch tank installed getting wet from engine oil.
Thanks, Whip.....
