I have a 69 standard coupe Lemans Blue with the original 307. A previous owner had put Z stripes on it. It will be repainted soon, in the original Lemans Blue. For obvious reasons, I will not put Z stripes or the SS D90 Hockey Stick stripes on it. However I do have a bias towards the look of the various Camaro stripes, and I would consider the DX1 "front accent stripes" if they were an available option for a standard 307 coupe.
So my question is : Were the DX1 stripes only an option for SS cars ? Could they have been ordered for a vehicle such as mine ?
Thanks.

DX1 was a stripe option only, wasnt relegated to certain models.
If you like the stripe, I say go for it

As Dave said, it was a stand alone option. You could get it on anything but a Z. Most original cars I have seen with the DX1 were 6 cyl and base V8 cars like yours. I guess most folks who got the SS wanted the D90 hockey sticks that came with the package.

The D90 stripe was included with Camaro SS equipment. It was difficult but possible to order the car without it.
The DX1 stripe was an RPO. Ordering info is emphatic that it was not available on Camaro SS or Z/28.

I say go for it if you like the look. I like the look on a standard hood. My 69 RS (350) will once again sport them when it is restored.. and it will be burnished brown!!!!!

I had a 307 car I bought in 1972 that had the D90 stripes.

Either the D90 or DX1 stripe could have been ordered on your car.
