How good are these trannys? It has dual bolt patterns for b.p.o and chevy engines. Can it be used without the lockup option?

Ok i was told this is not a 350. Let me describe it, electric plug on top drivers side, pan is square with corner cut off (like a 350). Came out of a 86? Cutlass. What the heck is this thing?
