I have recently pulled the engine and tranny from my 79 camaro. I want to remove the front subframe to degrease and paint. How much does the front subframe weigh w/out engine and tranny? Once removed, what will i need to do to get it aligned with the body once its painted?

My absolutely bare subframe (no suspension or anything) is 108 pounds. With suspension, steering, wheels, brakes and such it would probably be about 250 pounds.

There are a pair of alignment holes on the middle mount bads on the subframe that line up with holes in the body. This will get you in the ballpark. Then, use a tape measure and square it up.
