OK, While at Crusin the Coast last week, a local friend of mine takes me to a guys house to buy a 12 bolt rear end. All of the guys stuff has been under water. MS unlike LA, just had a surge of salt water, then it receded.

Well, to make a long story short, the guy has about 10 "project" cars that were not for sale. 2 of them were Z-28's, one a X77 no engine, and 1 a X33 RS that seemed to look like the original engine. Both were pretty rusty, but far from a total loss.

Then nestled between two 68 base cars, there was a 67 unmolested but pretty rusty, and it was white with a blue stripe along the nose. It is supposed to be a 67 pace/festival car.

I asked the guy about the cars, and he said he is not interested in selling any of them. They all went under in Katrina, and he was about to put them in a freshwater pool (?????????) to stop the rust.

My buddy from MS stated that he knew of the pace car, and knew it when it was bought in 67 by a local Chevrolet dealership in the area. All of the three previous owners are still alive and in the MS area.

Since then, I have found out that this guy has not worked since Katrina and does not get unemployment. So, two questions:

1. Do only pace cars get the C1 color combo? Is this color with the 4P on the TT (if real) a pace car only option?

2. Any ideas What (no pics yet) a "project" 67 pace car is worth (if real), both quarters rusty, interior shot (went under water), needing everything?

I am going back to MS this weekend and am going to bring "cash" and see if he is willing to sell the Z's and or the 67 (if real). I am confident that the Z's are the real deal.

Nope, anyone could order a C-1 convertible, and they could be a 4P SS. Lots of dealers added the blue bumblebee stripe to white convertibles back in the day.

Only way to deduce (not prove) its a PC is the - code following the 5 option group and even then some of those are not PC's. Hopefully it has one of the Known Fleet codes following the -. Also the car should be built in the correct time frame, (March to April of 67).

Thanks Mark,
I'll check those this weekend. Any ideas on worth (again, in bad shape) ?

Hopefully he will at least let me take some pics for you guys to see.
