I bought a 1969 Camaro 307 with a 3 speed 350 column trans. Are column shifter cars sold for less or more? I was wondering how hard it is to switch the column shifter to a floor shifter(any for now). Is there a manual I can buy or do I have to take it to a mechanics. Hope you can help, Thanks

There is an "Assembly Manual" very specific to each camaro for 67, 68 & 69. They are sold through any major vendor or maybe ebay. They are totally illustrated & make every part of the car look kind of like putting a model airplane together. Just look at the illustrations & go to work on your trany conversion. Column shifters are not nearly as desirable as a floor shifter for resale.

First, welcome to Team Camaro! There is a lot of info here for the searching on column to floor shift conversions. Here's one thread.

The 69s are a bit more difficult to convert because of the interlock linkage. It can certainly be done, and it depends on how "factory" you want it to look. If you want it to look factory, it becomes a bit of a "snowball" project, because you'll need a floor shift steering column, shifter, cable and brackets, floor shift interlock linkage, and the console. To do it and make it look factory, figure on $500 to $1000 depending on what you buy new and used.
68s are very easy. 67 is fairly easy. 69 is more difficult.
