Hi all

I read this in CHEVY HIGH PERFORMANCE a few months back but, as of yet, have not found the copy. Does anyone know what weight reduction equals one horsepower? I seem to remember that 20 lbs of weight savings = 1 hp but I'm not sure...
thanks for your help!:clonk:

It depends on the weight and horsepower you start with. 100# off a 5000# car won't make as much of a difference as 100# off a 3000# car.

But a 100 pounds removed from your car generally equates to an improvement in the quarter mile of a thenth of a second, over it's previous attempt.

And every tenth (.10) equals about 10hp (roughly).
