I have 225/55/16 in on the front of my 68. They would rub in a hard turn before, but since I have changed the front to disk brakes (kit from CPP) it seems even worse!! Any suggestions on tire size or any other fix?

I would get a piece of cardboard and cut a template to see what fits. Buddies with smaller tires works good too.

What is actually hitting, tire tread to lip ?

I'm thinking more backspace or the wheel but that could get expensive. Try a 205 tire (skinnier)

what's your rim width and backspace?

going from disk to drum will move the wheels outward about a quarter inch.

I have 225-50-16's on my 68, on 7" rims with 4" backspace. My ride ht is about the same as your pics show, but my tires are a good half inch or more closer to the center of the car than yours. When she hits a bump they tuck right in like they should, no rubs.

If they rub on the fender lip I and the ONLY thing changed was the brakes I would bet the brake kit widened your track width. If that is the case the only real fix is different BS on your rims.

...and does a different backspace mean different rims?

'fraid so.

If I remember right, the front disk track width is 3/8 in more on each side (wider).

If so, there be the problem.

Hmmm, so I guess I could just buy to wheels for the front and keep the back. How would I define backspace when purchasing a wheel? Or would it be a wheel made for disk brakes?

I can follow JimM's wheel size "225-50-16's on my 68, on 7" rims with 4" backspace". Will I be able to find Rally wheels that look like mine and where?
Thanks for all your input!! :beers:

Discs add 9/16".
Talk to Stockton Wheel, they can move your wheel centers in a bit for you. The only thing to watch for is will your trim rings still fit after they are done.
