I was buzzing down the road today going about 65 mph. I stomped the gas, and it downshifted, and held 2nd until I was going about 75 mph, then shifted back up. Is this normal, or am I in the danger zone? Car pulls so hard up in the top range of the rpms I can't believe it. Down low it stumbles until it hits 3000, then it takes off like it is on fire. I know I havea carb problem, but I am just wondering about the tranny, and what it can take. I have a 2400 rpm stall, if that makes a difference.

So the occasional high speed run (Byron this weekend, hopefully if the weather holds up) should be ok.

ya u should be ok make sure it has good fluid levels, its not like it would just blow up if u only get on it occasionally, unless somthing is wrong.
