I got wheel cleaner on my windshield that left acid spots on. Any idea how to get them off, and/or what do new front windshields cost? This is for a 94 camaro.

I'll guess that a little vinegar mixed with water will do the trick. This works when you get those dried hard water spots.

You could try bronze wool, not steel wool. Bronze won't scratch, steel will. A plain old scotchbrite pad could work too. That clay bar stuff everyone is using might be another alternative.

the auto glass business being so competive, you can call 10 differant places and get a lower price each time. just tell them so and so quoted me this price, more than likely someone will match it, but average price for a camaro windshield is 350.00 -500.00. email me and i may be able to help you better than that... sonny

I have removed some pretty bad water spots with "correction clay".

We had this happen just last month at work. The cleanup kid at our shop was spraying wheel cleaner on the winshield to get off writing (R.O. #, due date, ect.). We ended up replacing two winsheilds so far. We tried about everything (even buffing) and couldn't get the spots out. Let me know if you find somthing that works. Kids now adays just don't seem to know what "elbow greese" means.

Do you have comprehensive (fire and theft) insurance on your car? If you do, you probably have a deductable as well. Maybe you might want to explore that.
