Which do you guys do first: Get the car painted of do you finish the interior and then get it painted?

I ask because I was going to do the interior first, but then it seems that the paint and body shop will have to take pieces out to do a thorough paint job, such as the kick panels(they wrap on the door jam a bit), sill panels, etc.

Also when the shop ispainting your car how do they do the inside of the door jam where the spring is? Do they normally disassemble it?

Thanks!

I would recommend bodywork and paint first. No matter how well you try to seal off the interior, it's going to get that dust in there and then you have to clean it.

I agree with Rob. Not only is an installed interior a burden to get around, it is a source for hidden dirt and dust.
I always take a car apart to paint it. The cowl area where the doors bolt up is one of the main reasons I do this. You just can't do the job properly without taking the doors off. Depending on the quality you expect from this job, removing the door hinges should also be done.

Thanks guys! Did you also have whoever painted the exterior of the car do the metal piece near the package tray on the inside of the car?
