I am putting together a 69 camaro with a 350.
I came to the powersteering pump & got stumped. The pump looks like it mounts on one side to the water pump & swivels up & down from there.
But how does it mount on the other side?
I've got a bracket that looks like the right one according to the Classic Industries catalog, but I can't figure it out.The bracket has a threadded hole where I figure it mounts to the pump for belt adjustment, but how does the bracket mount to the block?
Does anyone know of a web site with a picture of a power steering pump mounted to the engine?
Thankyou for your time...Tom

Tom, assuming you are using the standard bracket for a 69 small block, you need the "adjuster bracket" that attaches to "mounting bracket". I believe the adjuster braket mounts to the exhaust manifold, and then to the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket is what holds the pump.

WOW!
I had no idea! Do you know of any pictures I could find? The bracket I have is about 6 inches long from memory,& has 3 holes. One on one end & then the threaded one fairily close to that. Then on the other end is where the other hole is located. As I recall, this bracket has sort of a bend on one end,but I can't remember which end.I am at work & won't be able to look at it till tonight.
I haven't been able to find any pictures of this set up at all.
Any help is much appericated.
Forgive me for my spelling....Thanks Tom

These are the 2 parts that cradle the pump and then adjust in the long curved hole/slot. Hope this helps along with what ever Joe has too. His pics are better :)

Awesom!!!!
This clues me in!
I do have both brackets.I didn't realize that the long bracket bolted to one of the motor mount bolts.I kept going back to the exaust manifold area scratching my head & wondering!
You guys are life savers!
Thankyou again...Tom

Our pleasure Tom!

Jim, it helps that my engine is still sitting in the corner of the garage. Those pics were taken 2 minutes before I posted them. ;)

Oh, your garage. Considering the cabinets in the background, I thought you might have that engine in your wife's kitchen.

;)
They were a freebie from a place I used to work when it moved locations.

I did that so that MAYBE the wife would feel more comfortable in the garage.... maybe helping me.... make her feel more secure about being in 'my domain'.
It didn't work.
