HI All, I have a 350 ZZ4 with a 700r4 behind going to 2.89 gears (I think). Anyway my question is that every time I pull away from a stop sign I chirp the tires going into second. I can understand a chirp when I am on it hard but this is even when I pull away at 5 mph. Just curious what would cause this...it gets a little annoying and I get some bad looks going through residential neighborhoods.

Only way around it so far is I let off the gas right as it shifts and the tires don't chirp.

I am going to a 3.55 gear soon...was wondering if that will make it worse.

if your at 2.89's right now, it will make it worse with 3.55's

Hi Thanks for the reply..I figured it would make it worse. I am all for "firm" shifts, but what can I do to tone it down a little...you wouldn't think you would chirp the tires at 5 MPH. Is my current habbit of letting off the gas slightly right as it shifts doing any damage to the tranny?

Thanks
Chris

I'm not real familiar with 700's ... but have you checked the TV cable adjustment ?

I think it might be in your TV cable also.
