I've decided to do some work on my body mounts before placing the frame back on the car, but wanted to get some opionions on the best way to proceed. The body mounts welded to the side of the frame are pitted and the metal is kinda thin around the holes. Should I cut these off and weld a new set on, or cut the thin part out and weld a new piece into that area?

Any suggestions on where to get a set of these to weld in?

Try these to reinforce the horizonal portion of your mounts. I saw another post some time back where someone had cut out the this metal around the mounting holes and welded plate steel into the box he cut out and cut a new mounting hole, maybe he or someone else will chime in

Personaly i would just repair them. It is pretty easy to do. I have done lots of them. I simply cut a square out of the top of the mounts and then section in a piece of plate, i believe the material thickness is 1/8th" I then grind down the welds with a 2" roloc disc and then simply hole saw the correct size hole for the rubber insulator. I have Tig welded them before ( saves a bunch of grinding ) or you can mig weld them also. Maybe take a measurement front to rear and side to side for the hole centreline.
Changing the hole mount seemd like a lot of work to me, you have to be concerned about getting it level and forward to rear positioning correct and the repo stuff never seems to be the same IMO.
I have seen some guys weld the plate or washers on the top but this spaces the subframe down the thickness of the metal and can cause other problems like steering column alignment etc.
Hope this helps.
