Im in the process of swapping over to a power steering setup from a manuel. I got all the parts and in the kit I got from Lee Mfg, what are the light silver brackets for as well as the rubber seal type piece? I looked all online here and in two of the most posted instruction sites and I dont see any reference to these? Are these possible used on other applications which dont apply to our first gen cars?

Also I got two copper washers with the kit too. I figure those go behind the bolts locking up the racg joint to the steering colum? I think Im just going to reuse my locking washers instead if thats the case.

Can anyone help with these questions ASAP so I can get this installed today.

Well I went ahead and installed the new steering box and ragjoint anyways. They fit like a glove. There is no way those parts I mentioned above could have been needed in that process. Im going to call Lee Mfg tomorrow and find out what they are meant for.

I didnt have my camera on me but yes that would have painted a better picture what I was looking at. I left a message with Lee Mfg today to find out what they are for.

As far as how long it took me Brent, it goes real quick when you dont have an engine in there. To do the entire job, including installing all the brackets and pump I would image you could to the swap in a days work.

I want to convert my 68 to power steering also. What is the site for lee mfg. Are youn happy with there products? Thanks

As far as being happy with their stuff. The rag joint fit perfect. So no complaints there. Im still waiting for my new engine to come so all I have in on the swap is the new steering box and the rag joint. Im sure I'll be happy with it going from a worn out manuel steering setup.
