First I want to say Hi to everyone. Looks like a great site with lots of info.

I did a search for this subject, but cam up with nothing in the convert section.

I am just beginning a restoration of a 69 Z11 396 4 speed and before disassembly, I was curious to know the locations of build sheets, other than the standard under carpet, fuel tank, etc. specific to convertibles. I have heard they could be up under the dash, but we haven't removed the dash yet.

I'm asking in order to exercise extreme caution in a location in which the sheet MIGHT be found.

Thanks in advance.

My 69 LA convert had it above the gas tank. It was not salvageable.

If the car was made at the Los Angeles plant it **might** have the buildsheet under the gas tank. If it was built in Norwood there probably won't be a buildsheet anywhere.

Check the letter in the VIN
XXXXXLXXXXXX = los angeles
XXXXXNXXXXXX = norwood

Also, post the trim tag and the nice people here will decode it for you.

My second gen had one under drivers seat, one under passsengers seat, and one in rear seat back..... haven't checked on top of gas tank...yet.

Norwood car, Z11 code, 50 white, houndstooth int, etc. etc.

I'll post the cowl tag info asap

I am still hoping to find something up under the dash, but I think that's pretty rare.
