I have read threads but there does not seem to be consensus on the benefit of the distributor. They have been out a while, and I would be interested in knowing how the electronics hold up under the hood (HEAT) It is pricey. I currently have 6AL with HEI distributor and cant decide to keep the set up or upgrade. The dial in advance & vacuum looks interesting , especially when at the track. Thanks

I have an E-curve distributor and it works great. It is a pleasure to work with being that there are no springs. I don't use the car everyday but I have used it in high heat conditions (living in Las Vegas) with no problems. It does what they say it can do and I recommend it.

are you running an HEI set up and do you have any other ignition upgrades beside the distributor. Thanks

I have one also. It has performed flawlessly. If I had a gripe or three, they would be:
1. Kind of confusing to figure out the curve charts.
2. The switches are tiny and hard to read with the dist installed.
3. Advance curves are in 5 degree increments. Probably good enough for most applications, but if you really wanted fine tune it to gnats ass, you couldn't.
Bu t these are minor gripes, and I recommend the distributor also.
If you get one, I'd advise writing down the curve you chose. I have forgotten mine already, but I think I chose 20* "mechanical" all in by 2500RPMs, and 10* vacuum all in at 6 in vacuum.
I run mine as a stand alone dist - no box - which I think is fine for a street car. I also didn't trust that the supplied gear would live in harmony with my billet roller cam, so I am using a Comp Cams polymer gear.

Macdon, no HEI or box just the E-curve. I also concur with Al, but all in all it is a very nice piece of technology. I am very happy with it.

thanks Guys,
I picked one up. Your comments on reading the dials are right on, I need glasses to see what are the settings. But all in all this is way better to my current set up and dialing the car at the track shouls be a bit easier.Macdon

just checked one out on MSD's site, pretty sweet!
now if they'd just run those controls to dash mounted dials!
