I run Lunati's Voodoo 60105 and I'm very happy with it.
Basic Operating RPM Range:2,500-6,500 RPMIntake Duration at 050 inch Lift:241Exhaust Duration at 050 inch Lift:249Duration at 050 inch Lift:241 int./249 exh.Advertised Intake Duration:284Advertised Exhaust Duration:292Advertised Duration:284 int./292 exh.Intake Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio:0.525 in.Exhaust Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio:0.546 in.Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio:0.525 int./0.546 exh. liftLobe Separation (degrees):110

If your only going to pull 6k this may be a bit big, because it really starts to pull on my motor at @5k, and goes strong to 7k+. Although I do run 1.6 rockers. You may want to go one step down to the 60104.Basic Operating RPM Range:2,200-6,400 RPMIntake Duration at 050 inch Lift:233Exhaust Duration at 050 inch Lift:241Duration at 050 inch Lift:233 int./241 exh.Advertised Intake Duration:276Advertised Exhaust Duration:284Advertised Duration:276 int./284 exh.Intake Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio:0.504 in.Exhaust Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio:0.525 in.Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio:0.504 int./0.525 exh. liftLobe Separation (degrees):110

Or my old cam.

Well if you ARE running 12:1 you dont want to go smaller i wouldnt think. I run an erson 296/302, 258/264@.050 .562/.562 on a 108 that would probably work well, but youre going to spin 6,800. Its a solid F/T. It would work well with your large heads but youde need a single plain intake and maybe a bit more stall to take advantage of it i would think.

for a roller i would use the herbert c6g.you can see what my nova runs on the signature, almost the same combo as yours .i do shift at 6200 though.for a solid that runs as good i would use a elgin or herbert 556 533 lift 264 256 at 50 thousands.that cam runs as good as the roller,at the rpms i turn.use a 106 center line and small base circle.i ran the elgin cam in a 383 and a 400 and it worked very well.the best it ran in my chevelle was 7.40s with the 383 and it ran a 7.12 with 406 .sold the 383 to a buddy with a camaro and he ran a best 7.07 i believe.and thats with a set of 186 casting heads

The pistons I am using states 12.08:1 with a 64 chambered head, so that is what I am basing comp ratio to.

I would assume nothing. Do some reading here:
http://www.empirenet.com/pkelley2/DynamicCR.html

then use the DCR to calculate your compression. You'll need to know all of your specifics, heads (have they been shaved?), head gaskets, pistons (dome or dish volume), bore, stroke, etc.
