I want to restore my 89 RS 305, but I am a beginner grease monkey and don't know where to start. The car has seen much better days and I am afraid there are some screwy electrical things going on. Not to mention the engine isn't running so well anymore. Is there a good book to start with? Any other ideas? Thanks a lot,

Get a GM service manual for your car, it has a ton of info on how your cars systems work. The order form might be at the back of your owners manual if you still have it.
These manuals are more detailed than any other type you can get.
Also, you might try your local chevy dealers repair dept. They might have an "extra" copy of it.
Also see if you can get a good general automotive technology book from your local JR College. It would be great if you took some classes there too. You could use the schools equipment to repair your car.
