Hello all.... I have a 69 camaro that was shift on the column. The former owner installed a B&M shifter on the floor. I took out the B&M shifter and purchased a stock horse shoe shifter. Does anyone have pictures of the transmission tunnel, since I have no idea where to "correctly" mount the shifter and shifter cable.

Thanks.. A

Just a thought. You may want to install the console/shifter together for best results. Reverse line up can make you reach for a longneck.

How badly butchered is your tunnel? There are dimples for the console and shifter in a factory tunnel.

If you remove the carpet. The floorpan is dimpled where the holes to mount the shifter and console go. set the shifter on the center hump and you should be able to position it so the holes in the shifter line up with dimples, thes would be the iones to use. The large hole for the cable is also dimpled. A hole saw in a right angle drill is good for this and the 2 front console mounting holes. The shifter and rear console bolts mount into 5/16-18 rivnuts that are installed into the holes. Using nuts and bolts can be done but is a 2 person job to tighten.
Replace the carpet before mounting the shifter and console.

Thanks for all the good information. I found the marks for the shifter bolts and shifter cable. I have a few small holes from the B&M shifter that I'm gonna have welded up this week. The past owner cut a larger hole, about the size of a quarter, for the shifter cable. A
