Hello everyone, I’ve recently purchased my first gen project car, I’m currently planning on taking out the interior, then window trim then windows. My first question is would that be the proper first steps? Second what is the proper way to remove the chrome window trim with out damage? Any directions or suggestions would be a great help.

The correct way to remove the window trim would be with the hook tool that is made for removing the trim. I believe it can still be purchased at most auto body shops.

Take your time with the tool so you don't bend the trim. The working end of the trim stays parrallel to the glass and "pops" the clips holding the trim. You will get the hang of it fast.

Welcome to Team Camaro, the place place in the world to talk firstgens.

The absolute very first thing I would do is purchase a Factory Assembly Manual and Fisher Body Service manual. All the repro parts dealers have them.

thanks, Yep I got the manual coming I purchased off eBay. I figure I wont go to wild until I have a chance to read or look the manual over.

The manual has a lot to be desired but it's just about all there is out there. Good luck.
