I installed the brand new Cartet Mech fuel pump and nothing? No fuel is being pumped into the filter? I even took the fuel line off and ran it to a gas can? I am so frustrated with this thing

Remove the fuel line at the front of the engine and put low pressure air to that line. Get under the car and listen for and air sounds. If the pump is sucking air, it will never build up pressure.

WHat made you replace the fel pump in the first place? Is there a chance you have a bad pump lobe on the cam? Are we sure the rod is in? Don't laugh I watched a guy do that, when I asked him about it he just looked at me like I was crazy. Turns out he didn't install the fuel pump rod.

and I saw a guy install a pump with the rod down, not on top of the arm to make it pump. I didn't think it would tighten up that way, but it did easily.

Im not sure what is going on the pump pumps fuel by hand, the rod moves in and out about 3/8" but the lever on the pump is slightly different than the stock one? I wish I knew what a big block pump arm looked like maybe they gave me the wrong pump?

I also know of a guy that lost his mech pump in Montana, installed an electrical direct , went to eat and came back , pump was burned from running and no fuel to move and cool it. Went back to his old pump.

Anyhow, I went to electrical after I lost a lobe on hydra roller cam,,, Been there ever since.
