I am nearly finished with the resto on my 68 and looking for the stove assembly. Anyone know where I might find the pieces? Unfortunately I think a lot of these were ranked and tossed in trash many years ago.

I think he's talking about the heat riser tube and the restrictor valve with a bi-metal spring like a divorced choke that went between the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe. Basically it pulled warm air off the exhaust manifold into the air cleaner horn to help the car warm up.

Tough to find, you see once in a while on ebay. Last set went for 100.00
But I found mine by looking at pictures of 327 or 307 engines pulled for sale and I saw several with stoves attached and the seller will usually sell the items as they are not in demand. I thought I saw a stove last week being sold with other items on ebay for 68 camaro. I might have an extra tube if you can find the stove. If you need a pic let me know and I can post the stove and tube I cleaned up ofr my car

I just parted with my stove shields when I sold the original manifolds. Ricks has the "manifold preheat system" for the 69. As for the 68, I was going to suggest e-bay as well.

are you talking about the pipe that goes from the bottom of the air cleaner to the pass exhaust manifold?my 69 350 is set up that way. If your 67 is the same, you may be able to buy some of those parts from chevrolet, I did 5 years ago. maybe still can , check it out. I got the pipe and the sheild that rivits to the exhaust

I see stove/heat riser parts on the ground and in the beds of pick-ups all the time at local Pick-N-Pulls.
I've picked a few up and thrown them in the wheelbarrow with my other parts from time to time - they never charge for them ...
As stated, any of the later 60's and 70's Chevy (and some GMC's) truck and van small block parts are the same design.

Thanks for the info. I take a different approach now that I'm educated. :)
