We are ready to install the new top on my 67, and the pads, that run front to back on both sides that protect the top from wear, that came from ricks, are tapered and it appears that they will not cover front to back. The originals are the same width front to back. Is there some where that carrys the corect pads? I went back a year and saw there was no posts on this subject.....Thanks Bob

I bought a pair from Rick's about 2 1/2 years ago and they are the same width! ??? You might want to talk to a tech. rep. at Rick's. They are very helpful.

My originals are aprox 9 inches, the ones Ricks sent me were 9" at one end to 7" at the other. When I called on the problem, they said that was all that were available. I'll bring up the problem again...Thanks Bob

I talked to another Ricks rep today and they told me that they in fact sent the wrong ones. The tapered are for a different application. The correct ones are back ordered...the tapered are on there way back where they came from...sooo close but so far away...thanks for the input...Bob

I have an original 68 vert and it needs a new top (it is the original... 15,000 mile car). So, the top being slightly trashed...I saw this question and decided to have a look. Mine measure 9" and taper to 7".

Ric's called again and said that the tapered are original and is all they have. Mine is clearly 9 inches all the way. On the back bow, the tapered ones were not wide enough for the screws to catch both sides of the pad...Is there a difference between the 67, 68, and 69 years as far as the pads. If someone has got the 9 inch pads from Ric's, do you have a part number? Really would like to get the new top on...Thanks Bob
