HI All, ran a search but couldn't find much specific info. Was wondering if anyone has any experiences (good or bad) with the Dynacorn full Quarters for the 68??

If you go to the web site (Dynacorn) and read some of the Joe Parts stuff this person puts it as though they could really care less if they are good or bad. As we are not their customer the parts houses are and it does not matter what we think. This was from a post about the Camaro bodies they are thinking of making or want to make. I personaly after reading hi respones will stay from the parts they make if possible. Go find the site and judge for yourself. I don't want to post a link because I don't want any trouble from the admin or them, just stating my opinion from what I have been reading the their site and have drawen my own conclushion

Thanks
Joe

Joe the problem is they are the only manufacturer other then NOS. they stamp them out and everyone repackages them to sell. At least that is what I was led to believe. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I Don't know? Does Goodmark get the parts from them that they sell? IF so I guess I am stuck with them as I will be needing a 1/4 sometime. The attitude put out by them on "their" own site just kills me. It's my opinion that they could careless about quality, at least this is what I gather from the Joe Parts forum. ANyhow anyone know if all the other sheetmetal companies repackage their stuff?

Goodmark gets a lot of their stuff from a company called Golden Legion. I have heard that Golden Legion stamps it ALL and the parts are distributed to Goodmark,OER,Year One ect. I tend to believe this. It is up to the different companies to do their own quality control.I think thats where Goodmark shines. Better QC.I bought a fender from Goodmark(in a Goodmark box) Fit bad, obviously a stamping error. They replaced it free with another one that fit very good. That was in a Golden Legion box. I think the different companies check the parts and rebox them. I think Goodmark may check them a little better and even test fit from what i've heard.

I have a good frind that works for Goodmark they buy and send cars to Taiwan for who ever is stamping the parts for them to use as test fit cars. As a matter of fact he just ask me yesterday about a rust free 69 Camaro did I know where one was because Goodmark was wanting to buy one to use for test fitting. I have just sold a set of 69 NOS fenders and he says that was one of the main things they were looking for was a real good set fenders. I think they have had some problems with the right fender on fitting. Just by what I have heard I do not think Goodmark buys from Dynacorn.

Havent tried any of their body panels, but the dynacorn stuff I have used was no good. GTO core support and hood hinges. The hood hinges were in the closed position with the hood being about 4" from being closed. Took them off and compared to originals and the design was just "off". Put the originals back on with no problem.

As far as I know, Goodmark and Dynacorn are not the same. Goodmark is pretty good, and if somethings not just right, theyll tell you. Theyre pretty much your only choice next to NOS.

As for me, I turn the other way when I see Dynacorn (or DII).

Goodmark and Dynacorn are not the same. I asked "joe parts" on his forum. He said no, the did not sell to goodmark. He would not tell me who actually markets the dynacorn quarters. I would assume it's oer, but who knows.

I stand corrected as this is the response from Goodmark on an email I had sent:

We have our own tooling on these items and fit is excellent. Look on our website for dealers listed in Canada and ask for the Goodmark brand.

Goodmark

Looks like there is more then one tooling company.

Could this be the Golden Legion that makes Goodmark sheetmetal?

I am also looking for full quarters for a 68 and got the following response from Classic Industries as far as ordering a set, today 12/30/04...

"Item is currently in the tooling stages and we do not have an eta but you can put the item on back order if you wish. Have a great day!"

I wonder how long these will be in the tooling stage?

Yepp, thats it Joe.

Liveinaz, that is the same word I had over a year ago. Quality for them I guess takes along time (sarcastic remark)!

67Cruise....

I guess I am confused... Are there other manufacturers or how do I get replacement quarters? Are the ones from Classic just made by Classic or are there more than one manufacturers? I am able to find full quarters at other vendors so are they not as good quality?

I think we need to make sure we find Goodmark parts. Call them directly and find who sells them near you or at your favorite Camaro parts house.

Someone a while back said Summit Racing was selling sheetmetal now, and if I remember right it was the GoodMark brand?

Just looked at Summit and they have GoodMark in MFG. list.

Doug, that was me. I bought my quarter through Summit Racing here in Sparks, Nevada, and Goodmark dropped shipped them direct to me with a small shipping cost. I'm thinking it was around like 8 to 10 bucks. If you provide a Goodmark part number to them, more than likely they can sell it to you. By the way, Summit has very low overhead for selling Goodmark sheetmetal. It was the cheapest I have found across the country. I you need the info for Summit where I bought my parts, just look under Nevada on the Goodmark distributor webpage. The store in Sparks, NV is the only one I have contacted, I can't speak for other stores outside of Nevada. The quarters I bought, fit really well. Door jambs and window openings look good. The problems I am having now are the rear lower flange next to the tail panel. You know the curved part that isn't spot welded on the flange. Seems that the raduis is off by about 1/4". I trimmed the flange there on the quarter and it fits perfect now. I did a whole rear clip and now the area I need to focus on is the trunk opening. Look at my site to see what I am talking about. If you have any questions, email me, I would be happy to help with some answers.
