What is the vacuum canister inside the driver side fender of my 68 do? I had AC once so I dont know if it went to that and I now can get rid of it?

I had AC once so I dont know if it went to that and I now can get rid of it? click Nov 8th, 06, 05:30 PM the canister is part of the a/c system. It activates when you slide the dash panel knob into A/C, it then sends vacuum to that canister and then the vacuum goes to the passenger side inner fender to a heater cut off valve, which then closes to keep heat from going thru the heater core while in A/C mode. As long as the source of Vacuum to the dash panel is plugged or not hooked up at all, you wont have an issue. If a Vac hose is open it will affect the engine vacuum since its open all the time while running. :) SixtyAte Nov 8th, 06, 05:32 PM What is the vacuum canister inside the driver side fender of my 68 do?
