If I take some front end sheet metal in to be professionally media blasted, do I also need to have them immediately prime the bare surfaces, or can I use an etching primer (or some other product) on it days (or weeks) after its been blasted without having rust problems?

clean them to get rid of the Residue left by the sandblasting media, then use a good self-etching primer... I think

What type of media are you going to use to blast the panels?

Don't know what media will be used. I'll probably just ask the shop doing the blasting.

Etch primer is perfect. Just be sure this is plastic media! Do not go with soda or sand!!!

You could also have them E-Coated.You can apply filler over the E-Coat.It also gets in places that primer won't.
