I have a 67 with the Hotchkis TVs kit and the custom DSE plates that mount the rear axle to the springs and I have a question on the shocks. The hole for the bottom bolts on the shocks are at a angle to the shock so that the bolt will be at an awkward angle through the bottom shock bushing. I dont know if this is normal. I see that the stock plates line the bolt up at a normal angle but these dont. Any ideas on what I am talking about?

I installed Hotchkis leafs on a second gen, they pitched the pinion nose down over 4 degrees, had to use a pair of shims to bring it back up. The point is, your new leafs are flatter and may throw off the shock angle AND pinion angle, or it may be all in the plate. Be sure you are checking it with full car weight on it. If it's still off I'd bend the plate mount area to line it up. I don't know of anyone else making those plates for a 67, so your options are limited. The mono leaf plates are too thin and mount the shock too low for 3 leaf use.

I am really confused now. Maybe if someone that has those plates on a 67 with the Hotchkis setup could post pics of their bottom shock mount setup. Mine just doesnt look right. It has to be the something with the plates.

please dont take this wrong but you are much more likely to get help if you were to post you own pictures of the problem
someone may post a picture of a similar setup but if you post your pictures we can see what is wrong and go from there

All right. I will try to post some pics but it wont be for about a week. The car is an hour from my home and I only visit on weekends.
