Hope this is the right forum for this question.
What can members tell me about this place (Southern Rods) in Georgia?
Are they are good source to buy a muscle car?
Do they sell quality cars?
Do they perform quality restoration work?
What is their reputation?
Is this a place similar to what we have in my area (IL) called The Volo Auto Museum? (where you can buy all the cars in the place).
My buddy just traded them his '70 Barracuda for a '69 RS / (Z28 clone) w/(supposedely) a real 302 DZ motor. Hugger orange w/ black stripes. It was advertised at somewhere around 26,000 (approx.) on ebay. He considered his Cuda a 7 on a 10 scale. The Camaro (from the pics) looked sweet!
His car left on a trailer Tuesday and his Z should be here (on another trailer from this place in GA) by Friday.
I guess it's always a "crap shoot" buying a car sight unseen. Don't know if I could have bought my '69 SS that way (w/o driving, seeing etc..)

I haven't dealt with this dealer but they have sold quite a few Camaros in the past few years (as discussed here). The first thing I notice about the car is the VIN being 685### but the body being built in December 1968. He states that it would not have an X code and is correct going by the trim tag but the VIN is definitely much later than that. I would double check that the VIN was not swapped. Obviously the car is a clone and it has had a color change. It was originally Glacier Blue (53) with a blue vinyl top and blue deluxe interior (I would not have changed that).
Also has the famous "Caution Fan" sticker. :-)
It is still a nice looking car for the money and if it does have an original DZ in it I would try to find the VIN on it to see if it can find it's home.

They had a 69 camaro that was advertised as a Z28... that they bought from the original owners. I asked them to guarantee that it was a Z28 and if it was not would they buy it back?
No guarantee's, no buybacks, buyer beware!
