Finished converting my 4-wheel drums, to 4-wheel disks the other night, and when I stepped back to look at the slotted/cross-drilled/zinc'ed rotors they sure looked good. Then I got to wondering if the rotors are directional, and if I could have them on the wrong sides of the car. Surely I could, and murphys law states I installed them wrong LOL! But before I tear it apart and switch em, which direction are they supposed to go. No instructions-cheap ebay kit. It was a headache getting their customer service to send the right parts, and they are probably tired of hearing from me, after they didnt respond to multiple emails, and lied to me many times over the phone claiming to have already sent replacements, when I call 3-4 days later and they have no record of me even filing a complaint. Tell me they'll ship it that day, call 3-4 days later, same thing. After a few times of this, I got pretty hot. Me and their customer service dont get along too good, wont return emails, and can't get a straight answer over the phone. Can you guys help? I'm looking for pics now, if you have any handy, feel free to post them up.

Thanks.

From reading on the web, it looks like most have arrows showing the direction. Also, "the discs should be installed such that the end of the slot nearest the outer edge of the disc contacts the pad first." Here's a pic: http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/faqs.shtml#16

Thanks alot Bry!

No arrows, or instructions, like I said, just a cheap ebay kit made more for looks then performance im sure.

Appreciate the picture as well, thanks.

Here's a pic of one of mine... Notice it's labled.

Just imagine how the car rolls and that is the direction that the rotors needs to go on.

Cool, looks like I got lucky and installed them right by chance the first time. Now the caliper brackets need modifying to install the calipers. LOL You'd think if everything is sold in a kit, and its all basically stock parts, they'd work together.....

Guess you get what you pay for buying off ebay.

Direction of the rotors have nothing to do with the pattern used for slots or drilled holes. The importanit thing about getting proper direction is the vent vanes inside the rotor. If you got a cheapy kit then the rotors are likely not directional and therefore much less efficient at cooling.

Per stoptech's website and the link above:

"The direction of the slots or hole pattern should not be used to determine what side of the vehicle to place a rotor. Different manufacturers may have different strategies for slot and hole patterns.

The only correct way to determine what side a directional rotor goes on is the internal vane direction.
